Sorry for the late post, my week’s been pretty packed. I’m sorry to say that the Vroman’s bookstore nearby was not interested in having a booksigning, so better luck next time I guess. I feel that I would have a better chance if I started getting people into the book, perhaps by working with restaurants or small shops to help bring them business. I’ve also decided to learn 3d software programs such as 3ds MAX which I plan to use to make some promotional pictures. Wish me luck everyone! Until next time.

Sorry for being late with this update, I came down with a bit of a cold, but I seem to be improving. As far as news goes, I’ve sent the emails to the people in charge at my school’s bookstore, and it’s just a matter of waiting for them to respond. This also goes for the nearby Vroman’s bookstore, so let’s keep our finger’s crossed everyone! Until next time folks!

Things As Of Late

As promised, I am updating the happenings of Guardian’s Glory every week, and this week I had a really great idea. This past week has been my first week in college, and when I was going to get my textbooks, I noticed that they had general reading books such as Twilight on their shelves. It was then that I thought to myself, “Why not have my own book on that shelf?” It seemed reasonable enough, considering I am a student attending the school and it would give a little more prestige to the campus. I’m sure there are plenty of other authors in the 36,000 students that attend, but I’m not so sure that many of those authors published in high school. Anyway, I asked the manager how I would put my own novel on the shelf for them to sell, and she gave me the business card of the person to speak to and I will be sending an email and put an effort into making it available in my school’s bookstore. Also, I will be trying to get a book signing scheduled at some of my local Borders and Vroman’s bookstores. Wish me luck!

It’s been a VERY long time since either Izzie or myself have updated this thing, and for that I do apologize. Our lives have been very hectic and to be honest, neither of us are really very good at keeping up with things on a regular basis. Although, she has a TON of websites to manage, while I really only have this one, so I really don’t have much of an excuse. We’re still getting a feel for this website, so please bear with us. I plan on investing on a how-to book on Dreamweaver so that I can get started on the official site for Guardian’s Glory, but until then this will just have to do. I strongly feel that WordPress is invaluable to the advancement of the novel, which is why I hereby pledge to update this blog on a weekly basis, even if it’s as insignificant as how my week went. (I would pledge to update daily, but that would just fill this blog with random ranting and not enough things relevant to the book itself and probably result in sending off the wrong signals.) Izzie and I will still be keeping our eyes on this website, and you’ll probably see some changes every now and then on the layout of everything, so worry not nonexistant people who care! This place is in good hands. So until next time folks!

Hey guys! So it appears to have been awhile since Malaz and I have done any posting on the blog. The main source of accusation? Good ol’ high school. However, we are finally both out for the summer, which means two months of freedom! Therefore, since we now have more time to tend to the blog, there will be more updates coming from either Malaz or myself. We will do our best to keep you guys updated on the latest news concerning the book and Malaz himself now that we can have more time in the day to dedicate. If there are any suggestions that any of you have, please feel free to let us know! We’d love to hear from you and take your suggestions into consideration to make this blog that much better. Follow Guardian’s Glory on other sites! (Updated: June 9, 2009)

Alright, hey you guys, it’s Izzie. After asking around to a few people, I’ve been hearing the same advice from others as to find a way to help promote Guardian’s Glory, so I thought I’d give a few of them a try. I thought of doing this before, but I wasn’t sure if it would be of any use, so since I don’t seem to be the only person in the world who would suggest these things, I guess I’ll give them a try.

It’s been suggested that not only should the book be advertised on here (WordPress), but also on social bookmarking sites and social networking sites. As of now, not only will I find certain ways to get people around my home to look into the book, but for those people who live pretty far away, I’ll help by informing them with sub informational sites… meaning through Digg, Stumble Upon (maybe. that’s still a bit fuzzy), Twitter, Piczo, Facebook, a possible Blogspot (idk), Live Journal, and there will be more in the future. I’m basically trying to get it out to any and every place that will allow me; hopefully this’ll get the attention of people who stay online a lot (such as myself), and then it’s merely a matter of personal promotion on my own in my community. So if you know anyone who has any of the above networking sites, please let them know and ask them to look up Guardian’s Glory! As soon as I finish the pages, I will post the links below for everyone to view for each page that I finish starting, and links to this blog will be posted on the networking sites in return.

So that’s my update for you guys. I just felt like I was slacking and not really helping you guys as much as I really want to, so since I am much more familiar with the listed sites, updates and information will be more frequent, as well as in more than one place.

*NOTE: These links were solely created for people who have alreayd signed up for these pages! If you already have a Twitter, the Twitter page was made so you could follow; same goes for the other links. The intention was NOT for everyone to have to sign up for all of these pages! If you want to, then by all means, go ahead; there’s no problem with that at all. The decision to come up with multiple locations was simply made for the purpose of those who may not have access to this blog just yet; it’s best to have the information about Guardian’s Glory in more than just one place, which I’m hoping will be very helpful once I’m finished with all of these.*

Hello everyone, Malaz here to give you some of the latest news on what’s going on with Guardian’s Glory. Well everyone, looks like I royally screwed up about the whole speaking at the public library thing. Turns out that was a huge misunderstanding on my part and I actually WASN’T supposed to speak. Instead they were having Ray Bradbury there. (Not a bad person to lose my spot to in my opinion.) As far as the newspaper is concerned, there were some unforseen circumstances that did not leave room for my feature. Basically one of the staff members who never sold an ad throughout the whole year decided to sell one and my story had to get cut. Instead, I’m going to be in the June edition which is better than nothing I suppose. (Gotta love high school organization.) Also, the whole Vroman’s book signing has yet to happen. I just haven’t had the time to go all the way over to Pasadena to talk to the person in charge of things like that.

On a brighter note, the book signing at my school went very well today. I was nominated by one of the staff members as the Most Inspirational Student, and I got a neat little medal with my name on it an everything. (Win!) She was even kind enough to mention my book and hold up her personal copy to the audience, which in turn got me a few customers which is always awesome. Izzie’s doing an amazing job with keeping my presence here on the internet with her other websites, so if you can be sure to give her a huge thank you.

Book Signing

I know it’s been a very long time since either Izzie or myself have posted something new, and that’s mostly due to school and the projects they’ve been giving us. However, I do come bearing good news. I’ve scheduled my very first book signing at the highschool I attend, which is Monrovia High on May 20th. Tickets are being sold on campus, (not that anyone that reads this is likely to be attending my school) and I will be there to sign books and possibly discuss Guardian’s Glory. Hopefully this will be the first of many, and it will lead to great success. In other news, the City of Monrovia is looking to have me in the grand opening of the public library. Ah, the perks of being a former city employee…. Regardless, it’s still a big honor, and I’m hoping that it will get my book out there to the public. Until next time folks!

Hey guys, ^_^

I’m Parizah (or Izzie, if you want), otherwise known as Lady Ashthello, and I’m an admin who is basically here to be the cheerleader and hopefully aid in the launching of Guardian’s Glory into the world for all of you, and everyone else, to experience and enjoy. I’m not going to make this post about me with my little introduction and all, but I will be more than happy to explain the two purposes of this page:

1. To spread the word.

~ For those of you who have published (anything at all, to be honest), know how rough the beginning stages can be for a new author… especially if it is a very first publication. Becoming known to other people besides your family and friends can take a while, which is why it is necessary to make yourself known. As Malaz continues with his journey of becoming a new novelist, he knows that he can’t possibly do every single thing there is to do in order to be world-known, but it is essential to spread his actual existance by starting out with certain small tasks, such as this blog. ^_^

2. To be involved with the readers.

~ Besides actually getting the word of Guardian’s Glory out to a wider variety of people, the second main purpose of this blog is to interact with you: the readers. This blog is not entirely meant to just post updates on Guardian’s Glory and Malaz as we track their success, but also to give the loving fans (that’s you) the opportunity to share said love for the book and its characters by allowing you to post all sorts of fan work. For the time being, that only includes fanart/illustrations and fanfiction, but if the idea of a new fan piece springs to mind, we will surely let you know. Once you have read the book (which can be purchased here: http://www.authorhouse.com/Bookstore/ItemDetail.aspx?bookid=59796) and have fallen madly in love with the characters, you are absolutely free to play with them all you like, and Malaz would be thrilled to post it here for you. (Credit will always be given to the artist or author for his or her work!)

*Note: Fanart does not only have to include drawings. Be as creative as you want! If you can build a five foot tall sculpture of Storm out of nothing but toothpicks and dental floss, then by all means… share your epic skills with the rest of us.

For now, that is basically all that I have for this post, but I will definately do my best to keep you updated on anything and everything as we track this baby until it is a full grown adult. We can’t wait to hear from you, and thank you so much for stopping by!
